Sara Steck Myers
Attorney
Ms. Myers has a longstanding private practice specializing in the areas of electric energy and water utility regulation, rates, service, distribution and transmission, and related public interest and environmental issues. Her practice includes representation of energy consumers; small investor-owned water and sewer utilities, independent energy producers; third party energy efficiency, demand response, and data access providers; California cities and state governmental agencies; and environmental and public interest organizations before the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), other state and federal energy agencies, and California courts. Energy representation has focused on, among other things, advancing California policies aimed at increasing reliance on, and procurement of, clean energy resources and technologies to meet the State’s electricity demand, while maintaining grid reliability. Prior to starting her private practice, Ms. Myers was Regulatory Counsel for California Energy Company and previously served as an Administrative Law Judge at the CPUC and as a law clerk to justices in the California and U.S. Courts of Appeal. Ms. Myers has also appeared as an expert witness on CPUC and qualifying facility (QF) contract issues in civil court litigation and arbitration. Ms. Myers holds a BA in English from Stanford University and a JD from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. She is an active member of the California State Bar Association.
